6 Lipsticks You Need This Autumn

barry m lip kit, nyx lipstick, sleek lipstick

For me, buying a new lipstick every Autumn is like being back at school and buying new stationery, I get super excited at all the new season shades and have to pick up at least one for my makeup collection. There are some amazing lip products on the market right now, I’ve found a few that I’ve seriously been loving over the past few months, and as Autumn is well and truly underway I’d thought I’d let you have a peek at what lipsticks I’ve been using.

For everyday I’ll apply NYX Lip Liner in Nude and Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in the shade Monogamous which is a beautiful warm toned browny nude shade, so it’s absolutely perfect for everyday wear. This lipstick gives an incredible creamy finish and is super easy to apply, it just glides on so nicely and took just one coat to give my lips a beautiful wash of colour. I’m seriously impressed with how long the lipstick lasted, only having to top up once through the day. It feels super nourishing on my lips due to it’s moisturising formula.

I’m also obsessed with Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit in Allure which is a stunning metallic plum shade. I fell in love with the original Barry M Matte Me Up Lip kit, so when I saw they brought out a metallic version I knew I had to get my hands on one. I’ve been using the shade Allure quite a lot over the past few weeks as it’s perfect for day or evening. These lip kits are amazing, the applicator makes it easy to apply and the colour just glides on, it doesn’t feel sticky or cling to any dry areas and the colour lasts pretty much all day. The lip kit is such a bargain at only £6.99!

I enjoy wearing a bolder lip colour and this season I’m just loving NYX Butter Gloss in shade Red Velvet, it’s perfect for Autumn. This is a more comfortable liquid lipstick in the most amazing, creamy moisturising formula. My lips always feel super soft and hydrated after using this lipstick, it’s a bit like having a highly pigmented lip balm which is just what I need in the colder months. The sponge applicator makes it easy to apply as the colour just glides on and it lasts pretty much all day. This has to be one of my all time favourite lipsticks!

For Autumn I simply love wearing Sleek Matte Lipstick in shade Russian Roulette, it;s just the most gorgeous deep berry red shade. It applies nicely with just one coat, although I do wear a lip liner to stop any bleeding. It is super pigmented and dries ever so quickly into the most beautiful silky matte finish. Oh my word, once this stuff is on your lips, it’s on for the day, there wasn’t even the slightest bit of colour left behind on my coffee cup! It’s budge proof! I have to physically take it off with makeup remover!. For a matte lipstick, I was pretty impressed that it doesn’t dry out my lips or stick to any dry patches which is fabulous. So if you’re after a lip product that has amazing staying power and still looks as good at the end of the day as when you applied it in the morning, then you need this lipstick in your life!

The newest lipstick in my collection is one by GOSH in the shade Amethyst, which is a beautiful frosty purple shade, you do have to apply a couple of coats as it’s quite a sheer finish but it looks so pretty on that I have to give it a mention. It feels comfortable to wear, it’s incredibly moisturising and last for quite a while before you have to top it up during the day.

If you’re in a hurry the a chunky lip crayon is just the thing as they are a lipstick and lip liner in one. I’ve chosen Rodial Suede Lips in shade Big Apple, it’s just the most gorgeous deep pinky plum colour, perfect for day wear, without being too in your face. I found this lightweight chunky lip pencil so easy to use, it glides on smoothly, gives a beautiful matte finish and is incredibly long lasting. The colour is highly pigmented and feels really comfortable to wear as it doesn’t dry out my lips, for a matte lip product it’s actually quite moisturising.

And last but not least there is the Barry M Lip Liner in shade Mulberry which I’ve been using before applying a couple of my lipsticks. It can be quite difficult trying to find a lip liner which isn’t so hard that it doesn’t drag the delicate skin on my lips. This lip liner from Barry M is just perfect, it has a really velvety soft texture, but not too soft so you’ll still get a nice precise line and not too hard that you’re scratching every bit of skin on your lips.
