Red Lipstick For The Festive Season

statement red lipstickWhenever I think of a bold red lipstick I immediately think of Christmas as they seem to go so well together. If you’ve got a party to go to then a red lip adds an element of class to an all black outfit, just add a pair of heels, grab a clutch bag and you’re good to go.

You can’t go wrong with a classic red lip and these are my favourite three that will see me through December and well into the New Year.

Statement Red Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution – shade Bond Girl

This is probably not your typical party red, I think it’s more suited to day time events or a family get together over the festive period. Bond GirlĀ is a gorgeous red brown shades in a matte formula that doesn’t dry out my lips, it’s easy to apply and incredibly long wearing. I find this isn’t too in your face for meeting the girls for a lunch date, so this lipstick will get a lot of use over the next few months.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick – shade Lady Balls

This liquid lipstick just oozes glamour and as the name might suggested you’ve got have the confidence to wear it, trust me to choose a bright, bold red as my very first Too Faced lipstick. The sponge applicator and long wand makes it glide on. It’s super pigmented and dries quite quickly into matte formula, so I would suggest using a lip liner with this one. It’s the perfect red lipstick for a night out and sipping on few cocktails as it will see you through till well past midnight.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – shade Temper

For someone who never used to be a fan of matte lip products I now have quite a few in my collection. Temper is a real vibrant red and probably not as long lasting as the other two but it’s a soft, creamy matte. Although it’s the brightest red I own I still find it wearable for any time of day and one coat is all you need for a true statement lip.

I absolutely love all three of these red lipsticks, they are on the more expensive side but after finding the right shade for me I think they’re definitely worth it.

I also love a good highlighter for my party makeup look. If you’d like to find out which ones are my current favourites, I’ll leave the link here.

Let me know what your favourite lipstick is for the Festive season. Have you tried any of these?
