Seven Affordable Highlighters I’m In Love With

Affordable Highlighters

There are some amazing affordable highlighters out there, you don’t have a spend a fortune to get a gorgeous glow. It was one product I use to skip, but since trying out a number of drugstore brands I’ve found seven that I’m really in love with. A girl can never have too many highlighters, right?

Sleek Solstice Makeup Highlighting Palette

This little beauty covers just about everything I need from shimmer on my cheeks to adding a lift to my brow bone. It comes with three powder shades and one cream formula and The pigmentation is just incredible, my favourite of all four is the warm peach shade. Everyone and their Aunt must have seen this palette by now, what’s not to love. The packaging is beautiful and it’s great for travel as there’s even a mirror inside.

GOSH Lumi Drops

It Took me a while to get into liquid highlighters but then I discovered Lumi Drops. I found them so easy to use, just add a small amount to the back of my hand, then using my finger tips I apply and blend the highlighter to the tops of my cheek bones and along my brow bone or mix it with my foundation for an all over radiant glow. I expected it to be be a runny consistency, it’s more like a gel, so they’re a lot easier to handle. I have the shades Peach and Rose Gold, which are absolutely stunning, they look a lot darker in the bottle, however they are both light, pearly colours and look beautiful after I’ve blended them in.

BooHoo Highlight Palette

This is simply gorgeous, it’s set in rose gold packaging and at only £6 you’re getting a real bargain. The powders are incredibly soft and blend beautifully, the shade on the right has to be my absolute favourite. The glow that came off this little beauty matched a couple of my more expensive highlighting palettes!

Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops

These are absolutely incredible, they in a glass bottle with a pipette applicator making it easy to use. I apply a small drop onto the back of my hand then dot it across my cheek bones and blend it in with a beauty sponge. It dries quick, giving off a stunning glow, making it quite possibly the best highlighter I’ve ever had. They’re available in 5 different shades and cost £6.99 each, so super affordable.

Tanya Burr Illuminating Powder

I first fell in love with the shade Peonies Please after seeing it on YouTube, so I was determined to hunt it down. Honestly it is so pretty with a soft baked feel and an almost marble effect to it. This Illuminating Powder is probably more of an all over cheek product as it adds a rosey colour as well as highlighting. I apply it with a fan brush as it’s extremely pigmented and this allows me to build up the colour gradually. It’s perfect for adding a healthy glow without being too over the top glittery.

Makeup Revolution Sophie X Highlighter Palette

Makeup Revolution has been a favourite drugstore brand of mine for ages, especially their powder highlighters. I’ve loved using the Highlighting Palette  which has three gorgeous shades and each one is a decent size, perfect for swirling a larger brush across your face to give your skin a wonderful glow and not just specific areas.

I have recently discovered their Sophie X Highlighter Palette which has very quickly become an absolute favourite and I find I’m using it a lot these days. There’s a choice of eight different shades to choose from, which come in two different formulas, five baked and three pressed. I’m totally obsessed with the pinky and peachy shades, and let me tell you, they are simply stunning. As with most Makeup Revolution highlighters I found them to be incredibly pigmented, so I’d suggest starting off with a small amount and build the colour up gradually.

Have you tried any of these highlighters? If not, which ones are your favourites?
