April flew past in a flash, I know I say this every month but April seems to have gone quicker than any other month. There was so much going on in my life, mostly good stuff and I am a little late putting up this favourites post, I’m sure you’ll forgive me.

I’ve been trying out loads of fab new products and it’s been so hard to narrow it down to which ones I’ve been loving the most, I’ve changed my mind like a zillion times!

Anyway, I’ll stop waffling and get straight down to business.

After months of my feet being stuck inside tights or socks with ankle boots, my feet were probably not looking there best. As the warmer weather is just around the corner, and hopefully I can finally start wearing my new sandals, I’ve been giving my feet a little extra love and attention. A couple of times a week I’ve been using Bare Foot Peppermint and Plum Foot Scrub to get rid of any dead, flaky skin especially around my heels and ankles. I’ve then applied Bare Foot Lavender and Mint Foot Cream, which not only smells incredible but leaves my feet feeling super soft. It also contains Tree Tree Oil to help soothe tired feet, so it’s great if you’re on your feet all day.

Staying on the subject of feet, I’ve been painting my toe nails just in case the sun does surprise me one day and for me I don’t wan’t my feet on show without a splash of colour, I really don’t like my nails bare if I’m wearing open toe shoes. I’m loving the cute pastel nail polishes from PoundLand as part of my mini at home pedicure. Lavender Cream and Popping Pink are just the prettiest colours ever! For a nail polish that only cost a £1, they are absolutely incredible, they dry super quick and last for ages before they start to chip.

I’ve been neglecting my hands a bit recently so when I saw one of my favourite hand treats was free with a magazine I gave in and bought it (one of my many weaknesses!). I’ve been using Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Hand Cream all month and it’s made my hands feel wonderfully soft again. I’ve been carrying it in my bag and applying it after my hands have been in water or when they just feel a bit dry. I’ve loved it so much that this one has run out, so it looks like I’ll be heading over to their website to order the full size product.

You may have seen these already over on my instagram, but I’m all about colour right now. I’m so in love with liquid lipsticks and for me NYX Liquid Suede has to be right up there at the top. The shade Run The World is a really vibrant purple and totally out of my comfort zone, but it is just a beautiful colour to wear and I’m trying to be even more daring with my makeup looks. The shade Pink Lust is a gorgeous bright fuschia which is probably more in keeping with what I’d normally wear and would look good day or night.. These are so lovely to apply, they don’t dry out my lips and last for ages after I’ve applied them.

I loved using Kat Von D Lock It foundation as part of my everyday makeup routine over this past month. Normally I’d have to apply a little extra foundation in the areas of my face that need a bit more coverage, but with this  one the first layer is more than enough to give me that flawless look. It feels so comfortable to wear, not heavy on my skin and it blends in so easily with my makeup sponge. I shall definitely be repurchasing this foundation and it’s going to be in my collection for quite a while yet!

I’ve finally got round to finishing Radical Self Help by Gala Darling. This book is not your typical self help book, it covers a range of topics but mainly self love and ways to bring positive energy into your life. Each chapter has a section of “homework” to do at the end, some of them I found fun and interesting to do. It made me look at areas of my life in a completely different way and learning how Tapping a body part can help you (no spoilers, sorry!). This book is absolutely brilliant, even if you’re a self help sceptic, I’d definitely recommend you read this book.

If you’ve seen my social media then you’ll already know how obsessed I’ve been with this New Look embroidered backpack ever since I got it, so I had to feature it in my monthly favourites. It’s so cute, the design has a Beauty and The Beast feel about it, which made me love it even more. It’s large enough for me to carry everything I need during the day and there’s a pocket either side for my essentials. I’ve been wearing it with a load of outfits such as the pink jacket I’m wearing in the photo and it looks great with my denim jacket too.

Have you tried any of these products? What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments down below.

It’s been ages since I’ve done a makeup post, where has the time gone? This is the makeup routine I do everyday when I want to look and feel my best, those days when I’m going out the front door and need to be presentable. If I’m at home then I usually dab on some tinted moisturiser, mascara and a lip balm or lip gloss (just in case anyone pops round unexpected!)

I start by using Makeup Revolutions Pro Base Blur Primer, it’s the only drugstore primer that actually works for me and it’s only £6! It’s a thick clear gel that has a silicone feel, you only need one pump to cover your whole face. This primer is lightweight, blends in easily using my fingers and makes my skin feel super soft, it is the perfect base for my makeup.

I’ve been loving Kat Von D Lock It Foundation in shade Light Warm for a really flawless look. It’s a lovely creamy consistency and doesn’t dry out my skin, I use one pump on the back of my hand, then using my finger I dot some across my cheeks, forehead, chin and down my nose, then blend it in with a damp beauty blender. This foundation is incredible, it’s smooth application gives my complexion a wonderful flawless finish, concealing any blemishes. It’s lightweight but lasts all day and still looks amazing. This foundation out does any of my other favourite ones and is staying in my makeup bag forever!

This featured in my March Favourites post but it honestly is my go-to eyeshadow palette for an everyday look. The Colour Me Nude palette from W7 comes with 12 rosey, neutral toned shades, ranging from matte to shimmer. The soft creamy eyeshadows are super pigmented and so easy to blend , they have amazing staying power and haven’t faded by the end of the day. I swap and change which shades I use but usually start with a lighter one all over my lid, followed by a medium shade in the crease and a darker one in the outer corners, blending down under my lower lash line.

Eyeliner and Mascara

Oh my word, why have I only just discovered the Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner, it’s absolutely incredible. I am rubbish at creating the perfect winged eyeliner but this one makes it so much easier to get right. It’s super pigmented in a bold black and yes, it does last, believe me, no amount of crying, eye rubbing or getting stuck in a downpour  is going to smudge this little beauty! When I first got the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara I didn’t think it would be that amazing because it has quite a large brush, but I absolutely love it. It puts quite a lot of mascara onto my lashes, making them look thick and full of volume, one coat is definitely enough. It wears lovely throughout the day and I’m not left with any flaky bits that have dropped onto my cheek. I’m pretty impressed with this mascara and the packaging is simply gorgeous!

Concealer and Powder

I’ve been using Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for ages, it’s the only one I’ve found that covers up the dark circles under my eyes, so it’s my little magic wand. I dot the concealer where I need it and blend it in with a beauty sponge, it has the most amazing coverage concealing blemishes in a smooth matte finish. Then taking a large fluffy brush I set it all in place using NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder which has fantastic coverage.

I simply love the Makeup Revelation Iconic Lights Contour Palette if I want to add a little shape to my face, I’ll take a medium sized makeup brush and sweep the warmer shade (bottom row, second right) into the hollows of my cheeks and across the top of my forehead. These powders are so soft and creamy and incredibly pigmented, so don’t go over board at first!

Blusher and Highlighter

I’m currently using Milani Powder Blush as it’s one of my all time favourites, the shade Blossomtime Rose is a stunning peachy, pink shade with a slight golden highlighter. The blusher has a gorgeous rose shape to it and the rose gold packaging is just divine! If my complexion is looking a little dull then I’ll add a light dusting of Freedom Pro Highlighter across the tops of my cheek bones and on the bridge of my nose. I’m loving the shade Ambient, which isn’t too sparkly so it gives me a subtle dewy glow.

My absolute must have lipstick for everyday use is probably no surprise, Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk is a gorgeous pinky brown nude and suits almost everyone, it is just stunning. It’s a matte formula but doesn’t dry out my lips and is incredibly long wearing.  I’ll never get bored of Pillow Talk.

Setting Spray

To set all of my makeup in place and give it a little extra staying power I spray a couple of squirts of NYX Setting Spray in the dewy finish, it’s so comfortable to wear and it’s the only finishing spray that I’ve found doesn’t leave my face looking all powdery.

What are your go-to products for an everyday look? Have you tried any of these products?

I love birthdays, whether it be my own or someone else’s. I enjoy planning a small party complete with balloons and birthday cake, but the best bit is seeing the smile on someone’s face when they open a gift that I have carefully chosen especially for them. Spring seems to be a busy time of year for me, looking in my diary I found I had quite a few friends and family members with birthdays all at the same time. When it’s my birthday, I tell everyone weeks before and give them some idea of what’s on my wish list, not everyone is like that, making it a bit harder to find the perfect gift. I had great fun shopping for suitable gifts for people who I know, and came across these goodies that may give you a little inspiration too.

  1.  L’Occitane gift sets* all smell absolutely divine, my favourite is the cherry blossom one, and the packaging is so pretty. They range from skincare, bodycare and fragrance, making wonderful treats for just about anyone who needs a little bit of pampering. the Moments of Pure Delight set, not only smells incredible but would be perfect to take on holiday, it contains 5 mini products including shower gel, conditioner, shampoo, bath foam and hand cream.
  2. I’ve fallen in love with this gorgeous pink and rose gold makeup brush set from IndyLuxe, who are a brand new company. The pearlescent unicorn set includes 8 different shaped brushes for highlighter, blusher, contouring and eyeshadow. They look so luxurious and would make a wonderful addition to any makeup lovers collection!
  3. This adorable Boudoir Old Romance Earring Holder from Lylia Rose would look amazing on any woman’s dressing table, it has a beautiful vintage finish and comes in duck egg blue. The frame is large enough to hang other necklaces or bracelets over the corners, as well as attaching earrings to the wire grid. Who wouldn’t want their favourite sparkles on show with something like this?
  4. This embroidered back pack from New Look has such a cute design on it and perfect for anytime not just Spring, I don’t know about a gift but I need it in my life too! It’s large enough to carry all your stuff around with you, either for work or Uni, plus it has a smaller pocket either side making them ideal for your mobile or keys.
  5. If you know someone who loves their make up, they’d be over the moon if they received the heart shaped makeup bag from Kat Von D/Too Faced. It includes four mini products (a lipstick, liquid lipstick, blusher and highlighter) and features the adorable dog design on either side.
  6. These mini gifts from The Body shop are just about the right size for sending in the post. I know quite a few beauty lovers who would be so pleased with the Shea Butter set, containing a body butter, shower gel and hand cream, leaving the skin and hair feeling beautifully soft and smooth.
  7. A friend who has just had a room makeover or moved house would absolutely love something to go with their new decor, like this pink fluffy cushion for her bed. It’s so cute but would look great almost any where, especially that chair in the corner that needs jazzing up.
  8. Who doesn’t love to luxuriate in the bathroom for a good few hours for a pamper session when they get the chance, one of my friends does this at least once a week and doesn’t surface until she’s done the full top to toe beauty treatment. She would be squealing with delight if I got her this Hello Gorgeous set from Lush, and she’d most probably use the pretty box for storage in her bedroom!

If you’re never too sure what to get someone then a gift card is always a winner, Amazon, iTunes, a restaurant or one for their favourite fashion store. possibly a subscription to the magazine they love to read every month on the bus to work.

I’m sure what ever you choose to give to someone on their birthday, they will absolutely love it!

Let me know your most favourite gift you’ve ever been given.

Any products marked with a * have been sponsored or gifted but all opinions are my own.

I have a nice selection for you in this month’s favourites, instead of the usual beauty products that I’ve loved during March I’ve also added in a couple of fashion and lifestyle things as well.

As there’s a lot to get through I’ll get straight on with it and give you the rundown of everything I’ve recently loved this month.

W7 Colour Me Nude Eye Colour Palette

It made my day when I found a good replacement for my beloved Urban Decay palette, but for a fraction of the price. I absolutely love this Colour Me Nude eyeshadow palette from W7, it comes with 12 rosey toned shades, including matte and shimmer and is perfect for both day and night. I found the eyeshadows to be highly pigmented and were easy to blend, I’m also pretty impressed at how long they last, as with some budget eyeshadows the colour fades after a few hours. The packaging is a good quality tin and looks more expensive than it is, a great bargain at only £5.99!

Milani Powder Blush in shade Blossomtime Rose

This Milani powder blush is a wonderful new addition to my makeup collection and all I can say is it’s gorgeous! The rose design and the beautiful rose gold packaging make it look so expensive. Blossomtime Rose is a peachy pink shade with a slightly golden highlighter to it. The powder is so soft and applies beautifully on my skin, either a lighter touch for a day time glow or something a bit bolder for an evening out. This beats any other blusher I have ever owned!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk

A little bit of luxury and a special treat was needed for a night out with my friends, so I invested in a Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick. I chose the shade Pillow Talk so it would look just right with the darker eye look I’d gone for and I could also wear it anytime during the day. Yes, ok so it’s another nude and I probably own enough of those to get me through a world lipstick shortage, Pillow Talk is a rosey pinky brown shade which suits my skin and hair tone. It applies beautifully with a square shaped tip so it glides perfectly around the shape of your lips. The matte formula doesn’t make my lips feel dry, it’s also incredibly long lasting but to be honest I really wouldn’t mind having to touch this lipstick up in public with it’s gorgeous rose gold packaging.

Rose Gold Bangle

I hardly ever wear bracelets but saw this gorgeous rose gold one while I was browsing through Lylia Rose as they had a sale on at the time. I couldn’t resist using it to go with some of my spring outfits, it’s so pretty it would also look fabulous worn out in the evening without looking over the top. I love the small white diamante clasp, which adds some extra detail. The bangle feels sturdy but also looks dainty and feminine, I’ve just loved wearing it. I was amazed at the speed of the delivery, it arrived the day after I ordered it!

Boohoo Unicorn Pyjamas

In case you didn’t know, I am obsessed with unicorns and I finally own a pair of pyjamas with them all over! These are flippin amazing, they are made of silky satin material and just so comfortable to wear. I love them so much I almost want to stick on a pair of heels, pop on a blazer, grab a bag and wear them out, I’m sure I’d get some strange looks if I did! They feel so luxurious, especially slipping them on after a warm bath, I’ve not wanted to take them off, but obviously I had to so they could go in the wash.

Pixi Glow Tonic

This has to be my number one skincare favourite, of all time! The Pixi Glow Tonic is super gentle on my sensitive skin and I’ve been using this every evening after cleansing to remove any last traces of dirt and make up before using a serum. It’s definitely worth every penny, if you would like to read my full review you’ll find that here.

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit

I was so excited to get hold of a Barry M Lip Kit, mine’s in the shade Runway, a gorgeous pinky red, it also comes in 2 other shades Go To Nude and Pose. I love everything about it, the shade, the texture and the price, £6.99 for a lip paint and lip liner, bargain! The lip paint applies well, stays on for ages and feels so lovely to wear, the lip liner is soft enough to out line your lips with colour but not to hard that you have too push down much that you almost stab your lips.

Beauty and The Beast

I couldn’t end my favourites post without mention my trip to the cinema to see Beauty and The Beast. This is one of my all time favourite animated Disney Films, so I was excited to see this version. To say I absolutely loved it is a slight understatement, I think I fell in love with all the characters even more, even Beast before he became the Beast (without giving any spoilers away!). I think the cast were fantastic, I love Emma Watson anyway but I think she does an amazing portrayal of Belle. The director and production team have done a fantastic job of bringing this much loved film to life once again. I could quite happily watch it all over again!

What have you been loving this month? Are you excited about Spring and Easter? Let me know in the comments below.

If you’ve loved the look of the Kylie Lip Kit, but the price tag and cost of international shipping has stopped you rushing out to purchase one, then you’ll be happy to hear that some drugstore brands are bringing out their own lip kits at a more affordable price.

The Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit caught my eye when I was browsing on the internet, as you do, but every time I went to buy one they were out of stock. Finally I managed to get hold of one!

There are three shades to choose from, Go To Nude, Pose and Runway, which all looked beautiful, and each kit comes with a liquid lip paint and a matching lip liner all for the bargain price of £6.99. I was really keen to try these out, as the Kylie Lip Kit looked amazing but I didn’t want to pay out for the shipping costs on a product I may not even like.

I decided to go for the colour Runway (a pinky red) from the Barry M range as I always favour nudes, so thought it would be fun to try something different.

I must say, I’m extremely impressed, it’s incredible! Never having tried the more costly version, I can’t compare it to that, however I can get hold of this one practically on my doorstep, so no waiting for the post to arrive and it’s much more in my price range, hurray!

The lip paint has a super light texture and doesn’t dry out my lips, it was so easy to apply in one swipe of the applicator and it dries on quickly. The colour lasted until late on in the afternoon, and for me that’s pretty good going considering how many drinks I have during the day! I topped it up once and it applied beautifully, the lip paint didn’t go all lumpy like some matte lip products.

The lip pencil is so lovely, it glides on perfectly without dragging the delicate skin on my lips, it’s nice and firm but still soft enough that you don’t have to push down hard to see any colour on your lips.

The lip paints are sold separately from Barry M, they come in five different shades and cost £4.99 each. The lip kits are available from Boots and Superdrug, so for only £2 more you get the lip paint and lip pencil all in one kit, I think that’s such great value!

Barry M have done a fantastic job on this one, my lip kit is going to get a lot of use over the coming months.

Have you tried the Barry M Lip Kit or another drugstore brand? Are you a fan of the Kylie Lip Kits?
