Leighton Denny Well Heeled Foot Masque

Leighton Denny Foot Masque

With sandal season well and truly upon us, I thought it was time to give my feet some much needed attention. Don’t worry, I haven’t taken any photos of my actual feet, just in case you were wondering before you carried on reading.

After having a nerve biopsy on my ankle, which has left the scar area looking rather swollen, and having a neurological disability means my feet can sit at very strange angles. Over the years this has caused my feet to suffer and look a bit of a mess, with cracked heels and hard skin on the bottoms of my toes. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to shoes, fashion over comfort always comes first.

I’ve been testing out Leighton Denny Well Heeled Intensive Foot Masque and my feet have never been happier.

Leighton Denny Well Heeled Foot Masque

The great thing about this is the cream does it’s work overnight while you’re asleep and you will see the results instantly, it’s not one of those creams where you have to use it for a few weeks before you see any of the benefits. It’s so easy to use, simply massage a small amount of cream all over your feet and pop on the cute pair of cotton socks that come with the masque, then get straight into bed. I love any beauty products that helps me look my best without any hassle.

I’ve already seen a huge improvement in the condition of my feet. My skin feels extremely soft and nourished, what I love about this intensive foot masque is that it exfoliates the dry skin on any problem areas leaving them silky smooth. I’m no longer worried about getting my feet out in open toes shoes, especially as I’ve just bought myself a couple of pairs of new sandals from Topshop.

Leighton Denny Foot Masque

It contains pineapple and papaya fruit extracts, making it smell absolutely incredible. It is also really refreshing on your feet thanks to peppermint oil and leaves them feeling relaxed after a busy day at work. It’s literally a 2 minute pamper session for your feet, yet it feels like you’ve spent hours having them massaged.

Before I go, I have to mention my two current favourite nail polishes from Leighton Denny. First is the shade Rosey Posey, which is a beautiful camel nude and looks very classy and classic. The second is in the shade Rumba Rose, which is a pretty rose pink, and perfect for for having my toes on show in my new sandals.

What are your favourite nail colours for summer?

HAX Rose Gold Glitter Lip Kit

lip kit

Have you ever looked at all the amazing Beauty Trends on Instagram , from a cut crease to metallic lips, and failed terribly when you’ve had a try yourself. Yes, me too. Doesn’t matter how many tutorials I watch, it’s just never going to happen.

Well now you don’t have to as HAX have introduced a range of easy to use makeup kits to help you out. They’ve recently launched their products on ASOS and prices vary between £14.99 to £19.99, which is not bad considering each kit contains everything you need to recreate the look. There are 5 Instagram worthy looks to choose from: Cut Crease, Glitter Cut Crease, Rose Gold Lip Kit, Holographic Lip Kit and a Glitter Lip Kit. HAX really have got you covered.

When I was asked if I’d like to try one out and let you know all about them I jumped at the chance and it would come as no surprise that I went for the Rose Gold Glitter Lip Kit*. This would be perfect for an evening out or the festival season.

lip kit

The Rose Gold Glitter Lip Kit contains a lip liner, liquid lipstick, pot of glitter and an application brush. Not only does the lip kit include all the tools you need for an Instagram worthy pout but there’s also a handy step by step guide and everything comes neatly wrapped in a cute little black box.

I was due to meet up with some friends that evening and saw it as the perfect opportunity to try the out the look. I usually test products at home first, but hey if this went well I wasn’t going to waste a single drop.

The first step was to apply the lip liner, so I couldn’t really go wrong there. It’s a beautiful nude shade that will go with lip products I already own. The soft, creamy pencil doesn’t drag the delicate skin, yet still creates a perfect line around the shape of the mouth.

lip kit

Next up, it’s the liquid lipstick which is the most gorgeous rosy pink shade, not too matte, not too shiny. I’d quite happily wear this colour on it’s own during the day. I love the neat little sponge applicator which made it easy to apply the colour, some wands I’ve used are so long they bend all over the place. The liquid lipstick sat comfortably on my lips, not in least bit drying. I absolutely love the colour and it made the perfect shade for the overall look.

Then while the lip colour is still wet you dip the blending brush into the pot of glitter and gently apply a thin layer to the inside of the lips. There’s no need to worry about having enough time to get the glitter on before the lip paint dried, I was trying to make notes and take photos in between, yet the lip colour was still wet enough. The glitter was a gorgeous gold shade and looked amazing over the top of the rosy pink liquid lipstick, creating a beautiful shimmery effect.

lip kit

Overall, I love the HAX Rose Gold Glitter Lip Kit and it’s definitely a look I’d wear again. It was the perfect shade for my hair and skin tone. The shimmery effect made a wonderful change to my usual look, but wasn’t so different that I felt uncomfortable while wearing it. The creamy consistency felt lovely on my lips and it lasted through a few glasses of wine, a coffee and an evening meal. This kit costs £14.99, which is a great price considering you’d pay that for some lip liners alone.

If rose gold isn’t your thing, then why not check out the other HAX Makeup Kits on ASOS. I really love the look of the Holographic Lip Kit but don’t think I’ve got the confidence to wear it.

If you’ve tried an Instagram makeup trend let me know in the comments section below, I’d love to see a photo of a look you’ve created.

Kathleen UK Tranquil Fields Body Care Duo

You know that feeling of excitement when one of your favourite brands introduces a new product, well that’s how I felt when I heard Kathleen were launching a body care range.

There are 3 different aromatherapy  body oils and bath oils in the collection: Citrus Cheer, Tranquil Fields and Sensual Rose, so there’s one to cover every mood and promises to enhance your bath or shower routine with a little luxury. Each product is packed with natural ingredients and delicately scented with essential oils that gives even a 5 minute morning shower the feeling of a full on pamper session.

I love using oils, whether it’s for the face, hair or body, they are part of my weekly beauty routine. When it comes to body care, I love to use oils that will soothe and calm my mood as well as give my skin a healthy, radiant look. So I chose Kathleen UK Tranquil Fields Body Care Duo, which main ingredients are Lavender, Frankincense and Vanilla and are known to aid relaxation. I couldn’t wait to start using these to unwind after a stressful day.

Kathleen Body Care

Who knew that a few simple drops could take away all the stresses that had built up during the day. Kathleen Tranquil Fields Bath and Shower Gel* smelt absolutely divine and transformed my bath routine into one of the most calming and relaxing I’ve ever had. I literally lay there and didn’t want to get out. My skin not only felt cleansed but soft and hydrated thanks to the gel’s wonderful mix of essential oils. My body was completely relaxed, ready for a good night’s sleep.

If you’re short on time, the good news is that the gel can also be used in the shower and your body and mind will still benefit from all those wonderful ingredients. Aloe Vera leaves your skin feeling clean and soft, while the fragrance of Vanilla and Lavender will reduce any feelings of anxiety or stress and leaving your bathroom smelling absolutely amazing.

Kathleen Body Care

I’ve only had a few massages in a professional salon, so I love it when I find a product that brings that whole experience into the privacy of my own bedroom. Kathleen Tranquil Fields Massage Oil* contains the same essential oils as the shower gel, giving you a sense of well being.

This oil is designed to be used on wet skin, straight after a bath or shower. I love that moment when I add a few drops onto the palms of my hand and simply inhale the relaxing scents and I immediately feel a million times calmer. It contains Almond Oil, Rosehip Oil and Vitamin E which help to nourish the skin and keep it feeling silky smooth, even those stubborn areas like knees, elbows and ankles.

I’ve been using it in the evening after my bath, but it’s just as wonderful to use after a morning shower as my skin wasn’t left feeling greasy like some oils. It’s great for prepping the skin in-between fake tans, giving you a more even colour. Any residue left on my hands I’ll give those a quick massage too, concentrating on my cuticles to kelp keep those in tip top condition.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful body care range. We all need a little bit of luxury in our beauty routine and these come with the added benefits of calming, de-stressing and relaxing your body and mind. They both help to nourish and hydrate the skin, filling your bathroom with the most amazing fragrance. These body care duos would also make a wonderful gift for any females in your life. I personally love using both products from the Tranquil Fields range so much that I look forward to my evening bath even more than I did before.

The essential oils used in this range:

Helps to calm, reduce anxiety and emotional stress, improves sleep and relieves pain.

Promotes relaxation, reduces pain and inflammation, relieves chronic stress and anxiety.

One of the most relaxing essential oils, Vanilla can be used as a sedative, antioxidant and antidepressant.

The Kathleen Body Care range will be available from their website and through Keep an eye out on the Kathleen Twitter feed for any exciting new products and special offers which you won’t want to miss.

SpaRitual: Slow Beauty For Busy Lives

SpaRitual Review

Having some time to myself really does help with my with my general well being, especially my mental health. In a world where everything feels like it’s on full speed and my body has hit an imaginary brick wall. I need to be by myself, sitting calmly and free my mind of any outside stresses. If only I could hot foot it to the nearest Spa Treatment salon every time I felt like this. Luckily I try to recreate the experience and enjoy some simple beauty rituals with a selection of little luxuries in the comfort of my own bedroom.

SpaRitual is a brand that has a collection of high quality beauty products and has been around since 2004. I love that they are made with natural, organic ingredients and don’t have any harsh chemicals. Recently I have become aware that it’s important to know what goes on your body as well as what goes into your body. SpaRitual is really passionate about the products they make, giving you only the best, natural beauty treatments for an at home spa session.

I was extremely excited to try out a selection of their beauty products after being introduced to their brand by Rhian from A Touch Of Pink Beauty. Rhian came to my house a few months back to give me an Indian Head Massage, gentle music was playing, candles were burning and it was such a wonderfully relaxing experience I fell asleep. I felt like I was floating on clouds for the rest of the day.

Let me tell you about some of the amazing SpaRitual products I’ve been using at home during my own beauty routine.

SapRitual Body Oil

Rhian used the SpaRitual Chinese Jasmine Body Oil when she did my massage and I’ve been using the same body oil after I’ve had a relaxing bath in the evening. I use a few pumps in the palm of my hand and massage it all over my body, feet and hands. It doesn’t take very long to absorb so you’re not left feeling too greasy. My skin felt incredibly soft and it smells absolutely divine. Using this just before I get into bed has certainly helped me to feel relaxed for a great night’s sleep. This oil can also be mixed with the body butter for extra hydration. which will be great during the winter months when my skin is a bit drier.

Spa Rituals Nail Polishes

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the SpaRitual Nail Polishes, but they are really lovely to use. The shades I have are (L to R) Calm, Unleash, Wisdom and Liberation, which are all very neutral shades but they also have so many gorgeous colours from corals, bright pinks and electric blues. The brush is a decent size and it only takes a couple of swipes to coat each nail, I always add a second layer for a deeper colour. My nails looked really glossy and the polish lasted for around four days before it began to chip.

SpaRitual Hand Serum

I’ve been aware of using Anti-Aging skincare on my face for years, but never really worried about my hands. SpaRitual Hand Serum concentrates on slowing down time for your hands too. It softens and smooths out the texture and helps to build collagen and promote elasticity. Although this did make my hands feel soft, I prefer using a thicker hand cream and sadly I didn’t love this quite as much as some other products. I suffer from extremely dry hands so maybe this serum would work wonders on someone else.

SpaRitual Sugar Scrub

The first thing I noticed about the SpaRitual Egyptian Geranium Sugar Scrub was the scent, let me tell you, it is gorgeous. I could close my eyes and imagine I was actually laying on the couch in a spa salon. The texture reminds me of the sugar coated jelly sweets you find at the pick and mix counter. I use this luxurious sugar scrub in the shower, feeling well and truly pampered. The sugar crystals exfoliate your body by lifting dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling wonderfully soft and hydrated. It’s also the perfect scrub to use before applying fake tan, making sure you’re left with streak free colour.

SpaRitual Body Butter

My favourite product out of all the lotions I tried has to be the Chinese Jasmine Body Butter. I literally want to bath in the stuff. Firstly, it smells gorgeous and if SpaRitual did a candle with this fragrance I would also be adding that to my collection. Secondly, it’s not super thick, yet still deliciously creamy. It feels light and fluffy when massaging it into the skin, leaving my body feeling soft and moisturised. I love that it doesn’t take long to soak in and doesn’t leave any greasy residue, so it’s ideal to use after a shower before getting dressed in the mornings.

What’s your favourite beauty treatment to use at home?

Getting Ready For Summer With Norvell Tanning*

Norvell Sunless Tanning

I’m not one for laying around in the sun to get that holiday look so I love a good fake tanning lotion. Summer is just around the corner and my pretty short sleeve dresses will be getting an airing. There are so many tanning lotions on the market now it’s hard to know which one to use, the last thing I want is to have an orange glow or streaks down my limbs.

Too much sun exposure can cause real damage to your skin, UV rays can increase signs of ageing, discoloration and loss of elasticity, which is why I’d rather use a fake tan to achieve a gorgeous summer glow.

Norvell have designed a range of sunless tanning products, which have added skincare benefits and DHA to maximise results for a more natural tan. They are perfect to achieve a bronzed look without any orange tones or streaks, and not a whiff of a nasty smell.

Norvell Sunlees Colour Extender

Venetian Sunless Color Extender* is a rich moisturiser mixed with an effective amount of DHA, it’s buildable formula gradually develops intensity over multiple applications, perfectly prolonging your tan.

I absolutely love this stuff, I began by applying the Colour Extender every night for about two weeks and couldn’t have been happier with the beautiful, natural sunkissed look it gave my skin. It took a few days to build up a colour at first as I’m really pale and I started off using this on it’s own. I’ve tried gradual tanning products before where I’ve ended up with orange patches, my skin tone looks “fake” and the texture feels drier than ever. This one has a  violet and brown tone formula to counteract any orange, and it doesn’t dry my skin out at all .

Then I used my normal self tan and applied the Venetian Sunless Colour Extender every evening. After about 3 hours my colour started to deepen, my skin looked really bronzed, you could almost believe I’d jetted off to the Maldives (I wish!). It made my self tanning product last for about a week longer than normal before I needed to reapply.

This is a beauty must. No orange patches, streaks and no marks left on the bed sheets. It’s so easy to apply using a small amount on a tanning mit and it blends in evenly. It’s not only moisturising but it’s packed with vitamins and anti ageing ingredients such as beetroot, tomato and cranberry. For me, the Sunless Colour Extender is literally an all round winner.

Norvell Sunless Tanning

Throughout the summer I usually apply a tinted moisteriser and loads of bronzer to give my face a sun kissed look. I know some people apply their self tan to their face as well, something I’ve never done.

Norvell Venetian 4 Faces* is the perfect answer for a gorgeous summer glow that will match the rest of my tan. It’s a self tanning spray that made my complextion look as if I’d spent all day on the beach. It couldn’t be easier  Spritz some onto a makeup sponge then gently apply to your face and neck, carefully blending it into hair line. This one also doesn’t leave you with orange patches or streaks, just a gorgeous a deep sun-kissed colour. It’s so gentle and is designed especially for the delicate skin on your face. It’s Non-Comedogenic, so it won’t clog up your pores, and it’s enriched with natural enzymes to help repair weak dehydrated skin.  I’m sure this is the one product that has been missing from my life and will definitely be buying another bottle when this one runs out, just what I need for an all year round glow.

Norvell Sunless tanning products do not contain SPF, so you will have to remember to apply your usual sun cream before going outside. They are Cruelty Free, Paraben Free and 100% Vegan.

6 Tips For Applying Self Tan

  1. Shave your body in the morning (don’t apply tan directly after)
  2. Exfoliate well, using a gentle body scrub and exfoliating mitts
  3. Moisturise well, concentrating on areas like elbows, knees and ankles
  4. Use a well lit area
  5. Apply the tan using a tanning mitt (I apply mine before bed so it develops over night and never directly after moisturising)
  6. Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards

All that’s left to say is Happy tanning!

Do you prefer self tanning or are you one for basking in the sun to get your golden glow?
