Jane Iredale: The Skincare Makeup

Summer days maybe coming to an end but we can still make the most of them with our beauty routines. That feeling of fresh, dewy skin and not being caked in a layer of heavy makeup. You may have only spent a few minutes on your makeup look, but you’re left feeling pulled together and ready for the day ahead.

Jane Iredale have recently launched in the UK and their makeup is fully mineral based, each item is kind to your skin as well as looking great when you’re wearing it. They have an excellent range of shades in each product, which includes BB Creams, Foundations, Tinted Moisturisers, Lipstick, Eyeshadows and Blushers. Even their concealers are mineral based so your skin will reap the benefits on those days you need a little extra coverage. Mineral makeup is better for your skin as it’s non-comedogenic, creating a barrier on the surface and allowing your skin to breathe rather than clogging up the pores. It’ll help protect your skin against pollution and the minerals include active ingredients that will truly benefit your skin.

Sound good so far?

I’ve been testing four products from Jane Iredale and first up we have a PurePressed Eyeshadow Trio in shade Brown Sugar. The palette includes three colours which complement one another well and are highly pigmented, they can also be applied wet or dry, depending on the look you’re going for. The soft creamy eyeshadows blend together beautifully and last for ages with no creasing. The eyeshadows are full of ingredients that will benefit your skin, even those with sensitive skin like me.

The PurePressed Blush in shade Barely Rose, a browny pink colour, is so subtle and natural it’s perfect for everyday use. This has become my go-to blusher on those days when I don’t want to wear too much makeup. Just a sweep of this blusher gives my cheeks a natural flush of colour. Again, it blends in beautifully over the top of a BB Cream and lasts pretty much all day.

PureMoist Lipstick gives a pop of colour while hydrating and protecting your lips just like your favourite lip balm. These come in a vast range of shades. I found it so hard to choose but eventually went for the colour Renee, a beautiful pinky rose. It’s the kind of lipstick I can just swipe on with a touch of mascara and BB Cream and feel made up without having to spend hours getting ready. These balmy lipsticks are highly pigmented and super long lasting, they are packed with vitamins, Orange Peel Wax and Moringa Butter to soften, hydrate and protect the delicate lip area. I don’t normally say this about a lipstick but they smell divine thanks to the Blackberry extracts. I must say, I absolutely love the sleek gold packaging, I think it looks extremely classy and is slim enough to fit into even the smallest of clutch bags.

Jane Iredale have just launched a new range of Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipsticks in 15 different shades, there’s even one called Sharon (maybe I should have chosen that one!) but I’m officially in love with the shade Tania, a natural pinky peach. The creamy formula gives a matte finish and is super hydrating and won’t dry out the lips. The lipstick sits comfortably on the lips and is extremely long lasting, managing to stay on well through lunch and an afternoon coffee break. That’s pretty good going in my book. It contains Moringa Oil, a rich antioxidant which will nourish and soothe your lips and a unique blend of waxes to protect and hydrate your lips. I’m even one of those people who get excited about the magnetic click when you close the lid. At £24 they are on the pricier side but oh so worth it, I will have to treat myself to a couple of darker shades just in time for Autumn.

Jane Iredale products are also cruelty free. This is a brand I couldn’t recommend enough, I absolutely love the makeup I’ve been using and I’m so glad I came across them on social media. You can learn more about Jane Iredale on their website and Instagram.

Have you tried mineral makeup before? How did you get on using it?
